DETAILS BY GRUAU
A glamourous paw or … a feline hand ?
A sad eye or … a squaw black hat ?
A large black splash or … a lean and long naked man ?
An artistical question mark or … a whirl of a dancing lady ?
René Gruau (4 February 1909 - 31 March 2004) was a renowned fashion illustrator? becoming the favorite artist of the Haute Coutureworld : Dior, l’Officiel and many others. His exaggerated portrayal of fashion design through painting has had a lasting effect on the fashion industry .
He was recognized one of the best for ads on all kinds of themes : Dior perfumes, Rouge Baiser lipstick, gloves, Eminence men’s underwear.
Born Renato Zavagli Ricciardelli in Rimini, Italy, on Feb. 4, 1909, Gruau was the son of an Italian count but instead of following in his father's footsteps and accepting the job of royal military commander his passion and inclination for arts led him to a love and pursuance of fine arts.
When René's mother, Maria Gruau, a French aristocrat, and his father separated when he was three, he moved to Paris with her. Gruau then took his mother's last name, which is the name he is known by, opposed to his father's last name and royal connection.
Such elegance in his drawings, now, one knows where it comes from. Aristocracy !!

This artist is a bouquet of flowers, she is JOY and COLOUR, TEXTURE and TRANSPARENCY all at the same time.
“Et Hop” - 2011
“C’est toi la star”
Just for the title I love it. Kidding !
A little secret between you and me : it is very often Carine HAYOT’s husband who finds her her titles , so let’ figure it out , he must be thinking HIS wife is “THE STAR”.
I wish MY husband could see that !!
No bad mood possible when you look up to such colours.
¨Le pêcheur
A zest of Caribbean colours, the movement of the arms, bright whites and a medley of blues, a few written lines in the backgroung and you have a whole atmosphere of far and away right before your eyes.
“Le nez en l’air”- 2011

MONUMENTAL ANISH KAPOOR
GRAND PALAIS, PARIS.
MONUMENTA, now in its 4th edition is always a very much awaited-for event.
In 2007, Anselm KIEFFER was the 1st artist to challenge such a space, then came Richard SERRA in 2008 and finaly Christian BOLTANSKI in 2010. All with the mission to create a work of art precious enough but understandable by all publics.
MONUMENTA : 4 strong and striking syllables as powerful and grand as the Nef of the GRAND PALAIS where the mystery takes place.
Because it actually is a mystery :
once a year, a major artist receives an invitation to defy the Nef of the GRAND PALAIS with a new and inedited work of art. So, imagine the challenge ! A smallish 13 500 square meters of space and a mere 35 meters hight to work with and a whole City to defy : Paris !
I am sorry not to be able to publish more pictures of “LEVIATHAN” but it would reveal too much of this unprecedented experience.
So, a few pictures of his work worldwide.
Anish KAPOOR is our man this year , and what a man ! What an artist !
Trying to sneak in ?
“ THE CLOUD”
Inside the “Cloud” .
“Feel dizzy ?”
“ You drank too much, once again !”
“Feeling fat ? Difformed even ? ”
“ You stufed yourself , you swine ! ”
I’m afraid it is slightly more complex than that, as a matter of fact, it is convex :
a large, convex piece of highly polished stainless steel, roughly in the shape of a contact lens. Wough ! How reassuring is the “SKY MIRROR”.
Well, in “LEVIATHAN” MONUMENTA’s event, Anish KAPOOR describes his work as : “ One object, one shape, one colour.”
In his own words, “ My ambition is to create a space within a space as an answer to the hight and light of the Nef. Visitors will be invited to enter the work, to immerse themselves in colour in a poetic experience. “
A totally philosophical and emotional experience via a physical experience.
NOT TO BE MISSED or …. you’re fired .
Till June 23rd, 2011 at the GRAND PALAIS.
Opened Monday and Wednesday from 10 am to 7pm and from 10am to midnight from Thursday to Sunday.

MOMENT OF PEACE AND SERENITY AT THE MUSEE GUIMET
The MUSEE GUIMET is the perfect place to find some serenity and some beauty; not only from the works exposed but by the way each sculpture or object is placed.
The role of a museum is to offer hospitality to its works as much as to its visitors; this is especially so on the case of in Asian art, where it is the spacing, the blank spaces in-between, that irrigate the subject itself.
And, as in painting, it is emptiness that brings a subject to life, falling into streams, winding itself into the trees and gathering under the mountain cloud. So hollow and loose is the very figure of alternation between full and empty, that it is impossible to pay too much attention to passages, openings and the relationship between exhibited objects.
