INCREDIBLE SPACES

Ricardo BOFFILL’s workshop : a former cement factory.

Only an architect of such renown could imagine such an extraordinary space.

A SEE-THROUGH CHURCH -

Belgian architects Pieterjan Gijs and Arnout Van Vaerenbergh have taken the concept of transparency literally into a church, as they have constructed a transparent, see-through church in the Belgian region of Haspengouw .

Z33 named this project ''Reading between the Lines''

A PERFECT COUNTRY WEEK-END

This cottage on a lake bank does somewhat sound like  the perfect  haven for a delightful week-end.

Send an invitation to a single couple, 6 people would turn too much for such a poetic setting. I’m sure they’ll come over as quickly as a fox on a hunt.

A good book and you’re all set.

An opened door is always inviting and even more so with the old wooden tray set for  just  a few glasses, ready to be the recipient of an amber coloured vintage old Port.

I wish I had an invitation !

Prehistorical cook books by the window, held centuries ago by the hands of real cooking goddesses, the ones who wore a large linen apron and a wooden spoon in hand.

That’s a farm table. I would have opted for large and simple white candles set right on the table for a more rustic effect.

Time seems to have settled down on this lovely farm house, seen through the wonderful and charming blog

FAN OF GREYS

Pigeon coloured clouds with thunder hues are always a beauty when thick and dense, but to be honoust I prefer greys in the home.

greys from greige

Greys mix well with whites, silver, pinks, all the aqua spectre  of  blues, lilacs, purples and blacks.

grey pots greige

Greys can play “country” , or walk on its high heel ultra sophisticated look,  or subtle down to a very zen and contemporary cool attitude, like all Christian LIAIGRE’s furniture and Interior Decoration.

Grey can play the industrial part in an urban plan.

And for pure and daring style, you can’t go further than this.

And when baroque meets design, this is how it may look.

The subject of greys is illimited so I’ll take the permission to keep a few reflections for next time around. I’ll have to fix a GRAY drink for the occasion !

By the way, all pictures from outstanding and illimited PINTEREST.

INSPIRING MEGA SPACES

Now that you have cleaned up your mess, on my strict and authoritative injonctions, if not orders ! ( see my latest post for my daunting tone !),  you can move into more space .

Elegant spaces, unusual spaces, dreamy spaces, lofty spaces, you name it.

Who needs more than a high-ceiling room, a black what-seems-like-a-door, and a flag of a drape, is that still called a curtain ?

1-Windows

And HUGE windows… wonder who cleans them ? Obviously, I’m quite obssessed with cleaning this week !

Loft space

Is that a congregation of seating pieces ? Or is that a collection of some sort ? Or someone who has cleaned the Paris streets and fell upon all that trashy couches ?

I love them by the way !

espaceloft

Ouh , that’s about a 5 hour and a half of vacuum . Well, I agree, that’s not the point at all. Pretty awesome space , that is.

vosgesparis

And for that one, I’m sure you need some rollers, or you’re dead. If you’ve kept a little clutter, you could hire some space there; I bet they’ll agree ! Try !

Tuscany and it’s classicism, statuesque elegance : no rugs, just the rough floor, bare windows, no unnecessary curtains, statues, with no unnecessary heads.

weird salon

All these guys really have a problem with “ where to place their sofas “ or seems like they haven’t realised there is a thousand square foot space to use up yet .

TODAY IT’S CHURCH DAY

Normally a church looks more or less like this :

WHITE CHURCH AS SEEN ON PLASTOLUX

But then in the middle of Maastricht, this is how a church looks like :

This is the entrance : a copper tunnel .

One of the side chapels is nothing more then a perfect place to enjoy a cigar with a fiery armagnac.

A Martini at the bar… Are we still in a church ?

Well, KRUISHERENHOTEL is definitely a place for a special retreat !

The 15th century monastery has become a unique architectural adventure created by HANK VOK.

SOMETHING BEAUTIFUL TO START OFF THE WEEK END

The then BLAKES HOTEL in Amsterdam done by my favourite designer : ANOUSHKA HEMPEL, the One and Only. The BLAKES has become the DYLAN HOTEL but has lost in the battle some of the character it possesed.

Zen attitude with zest.

INTERIOR DESIGN INSPIRATION FAVOURITES

I can't resist ; after all, MAISON & OBJET is closing its doors right now and as it is Interior Decoration week in Paris I might as well share with you a few of those Interior Decoration pictures I favour, some come probably from the wonderful blogs I follow with such pleasure, some might come from magazines.
I let you browse into my little personal album :

Chateau de Moissac
For it's natural hues, it's easy decoration, nothing pretentious. Rugged benches down from the farm at the end of the property, deep velvet cushions on it, that's easy enough and ... more comfortable for our small bumpy bums Simple china, off white, clear crystal glasses, candle holders, and a hearty fire in the fireplace.
Now, get hold of the chateau !! That's another story !!

Blakes Hotel London

Its whiteness and special mix of lines and more cushions you could ever dream of.

Blakes Hotel London

from Me and Alice

Because of it's natural and seemingly simplicity. Often the most difficult arrangement to get though.
