Well, the boutique is actually not a boutique, but a work of art by the Copenhagen based French artist, Al Masson. He's been invited by the exhibition room Le Commissariat to do a solo show in the gallery space which is tucked in between the various small stores on this big street.
Next to it hangs a little watercolor drawing, and on a table near it, a shirt is exposed. The colors of the shirt are almost completely identical to the colors on the watercolor drawing. Looking at the shirt and the drawing, one could wonder which inspired the other. Is the shirt made as a result of the drawing, or did the shirt inspire Al to do the drawing? What comes first, the art or the design object, and is there a statement in this?
The exhibition contains sculptural objects, all made out of food packaging and other discarded objects. These are carefully arranged on shelves like in a store. There is also a section with clothing designed by Al Masson.
